A new, ultra-luxury condo tower is coming to the South-of-Fifth neighborhood in Miami Beach. The building formerly marketed as Kallisto and 120 Ocean will finally rise as Glass Miami Beach. The 18-story luxury tower will have 10 units and wide outdoor terraces.

Previously, the tallest buildings in the world were built to provide office space, while residential buildings lingered in their shadows. However, that is no longer the case. In recent years, luxury residential developers have raced skyward to provide panoramic views for cash-flush global buyers.

As overseas buyers continue to purchase second homes in the United States, developers are increasingly customizing their projects to appeal to the global audience. In 2012, international buyers purchased 82.5 billion dollars’ worth of residential real estate in the U.S., up from 53.4 billion dollars in 2010. With no slowdown in sight, developers are finding ways to tailor the interiors of residential units to suit the tastes of buyers from different countries.

A new, luxury high-rise is coming to 1451 Brickell Avenue. The developer, Property Markets Group (PMG), will start taking reservations for Echo Brickell next week. If all goes as planned, the building will be the tallest residential tower in Miami to date. The current tallest building is the Four Seasons, which is located next to the Echo Brickell site.

The Chateau Group has submitted plans to build two buildings in Downtown Miami surrounding the iconic Freedom Tower. The first proposed building would be located at 600 Biscayne Boulevard, the same address as the Freedom Tower, with the second at 700 Biscayne Boulevard.

Famed architect Zaha Hadid revealed the design for her proposed luxury condominiums in Miami. The 61-story tower, known as One Thousand Museum, marks her first residential project in the United States. The tower features an ultramodern exoskeleton and is set to rise on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami.

Many luxury oceanfront condominiums in Miami have been selling way before construction begins. One example of this is Peloro, A new luxury waterfront condominium tower set for construction in Miami Beach. Sales started about three months ago and seventy five percent of the 115 units have already been reserved for sale.
