Singer Island begins north of the Palm Beach Inlet. This barrier island with 7 miles of sparkling white beaches enjoys an excellent location between the island of Palm Beach and MacArthur Beach State Park.
The soft coquina sands are whiter on Singer Island, and the water is clear and turquoise colored as the fabulous Gulf Stream current comes closest to the Florida coast at this very location.
The Palm Beach Inlet creates its southern border, and the intimate neighborhood of Palm Beach Shores overlooks sportfishing boats and cruise liners that head out to sea each morning. Colorful marinas with Bill fishing fleets such as the Sailfish Marina are local attractions. Sailfish, Marlin, Wahoo and Dolphin are abundant at the edge of the Gulf Stream less than one mile from the inlet or about ten minutes by boat!
Very private Lost Tree Village, North Palm Beach forms the northern border of Singer Island. Here is the home of many celebrities including golfing great, Jack Nicklaus.
The history of Singer Island is interesting. Isaac Singer, founder of Singer Sewing Machine bought the land about a hundred years ago.
But, he wouldn’t recognize Singer Island today. Towering luxury condominiums line the oceanfront. The newest and most luxurious are the Ritz Carlton Residences, Singer Island (formerly 2700 North Ocean). About 270 residences are configured within two modern towers, overlooking one of the widest beaches on Florida’s east coast. Penthouse residents can look south over the Palm Beach Inlet and see beach all the way to the Breakers Resort on Palm Beach. Looking westward, the views include the aquamarine waters surrounding Peanut Island recreational park with its plethora of anchored sailboats and pleasure craft.
Singer Island’s 7 miles of sparkling white sand beaches have been considered among the top five beaches in Palm Beach County. You will also find beautiful parks, marinas, hiking and bike paths.
Minutes away are the world famous golf courses at PGA. Singer Island is also close to shopping and entertainment at historic Clematis Street, CityPlace, Worth Avenue and the Palm Beach Gardens Mall.
Singer Island is going through a metamorphosis with seven new luxury condominium buildings lead by the Ritz Residences. Construction has recently been completed a 60,000 sq ft. mall located on the south end of the island and a new coastal erosion prevention system will also be implemented in 2009.
The New York Times recently described this area as "The New In Place" in South East Florida. With Palm Beach International Airport only being a 15-minute drive, Singer Island is quicker to get to from the New York area than the Hamptons, on a Friday night! But don’t worry - this island still maintains its unique charm & tranquility.
