According to a recent report, Colombia bested Brazil for the most real estate searches in Miami during the month of December. More Colombians searched for property in Miami on the Internet than any other country in the world. Brazil topped the same list 17 out of the previous 18 months, but settled for a second place finish in December. After Colombia and Brazil, the top five spots were filled by Venezuela, Argentina and the Philippines.

Oceana Bal Harbour was officially topped off. The 28-story tower broke ground in 2013 and is scheduled for completion in early 2017. The spectacular development will feature 240 ultra-luxury condominiums located directly on the beach in prestigious Bal Harbour.

Sales launched at 3900 Alton, a 78-unit, luxury development set to rise by Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach. The 8-story, modern project was designed by acclaimed Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. It is the architect's first residential building in the United States.

Miami real estate flourished in 2015. Miami-Dade County saw 29,886 residential sales, which was the third-best year on record. Of those sales, 13,936 were single-family homes and 15,950 were condominiums.

Construction on Muse in Sunny Isles Beach is moving ahead of schedule. The third floor was recently poured, and the developers of the luxury oceanfront tower expect a new floor to be completed every 1.5 to 2 weeks. The anticipated development will ultimately rise 47 stories directly on the beach.

Plans for a 14-story, luxury condo tower on West Avenue in Miami Beach were recently revealed. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the exclusive development will contain 80 condominiums, with at least 2 penthouse residences. If approved, it will be the architect's first residential building in South Florida.
